Cricket Australia (CA) chief Nick Hockley has revealed that the board will be considering the idea of ââhaving different head coaches for different formats of play.
Currently, Justin Langer is the head coach of the Australian squad and he’s already been flagged for his intentions to continue in the role. Hockley, however, has yet to confirm Langer’s contract extension.
“This is (different coaches for different formats) something that we will be looking at towards the end of the season. There is no doubt that Justin will see his contract. It goes until the middle of next year.“
“Obviously, once we get through the ashes, we want to sit down and figure out where we want to go from there. We’re going to sit down and think about what this process involves at that point, and then we can say more,“The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Hockley.
Cricket Australia seek police help after confidential report leaks
Hockley also said the board sought help from Victoria police following the leak of confidential reports. News of the leak was reported by The Age on Sunday which said a woman claimed a gamer was using cocaine and dancing naked on the balcony.
“I saw the article this morning. These reports are unfounded. They are historic. Any theft of confidential information is a crime. We reported it and get help from Vic police.“
“It is really important that people can contact our integrity line with confidence that it will be secure. Definitely our processes, we review them regularly, to make sure they are absolutely best practice,Hockley told reporters.
The recording had been sent to the newspaper via an encrypted mail service from an anonymous address, the Melbourne Daily reported.
